Kathleen began her study of movement at the age of 2 with her first dance class. Several years of performing, collegiate studies in dance at Chapman University and rehabilitating from injuries led her to discovering Pilates. The principles of Pilates and the mindfulness of the work spoke to her as a dancer and she saw how beneficial the method could be to everybody. In 2008, Kathleen entered a comprehensive teaching certification program with, Carol Appel, a renowned teacher of teachers’, who studied under Joseph Pilates’ protege, Romana Kryzanowska.
Kathleen brings a fun, focused and dynamic presence to her teaching. Clients will learn proper body mechanics, breathing, posture and core activation while discovering the power of a strong, flexible and symmetrically mobile body. Her clientele range in age and ability: pre/post natal, rehabilitative, high performance and all those who are looking to challenge their bodies in a mindful, core centric way.
When she isn’t teaching, Kathleen enjoys cooking, visiting wine country, urban hiking in SF and is a huge NFL football fan. She is looking forward to sharing her love of Pilates at The Pad!
