Karen fell in love with yoga over 25 years ago in a small San Francisco studio, and it
has been her steady companion ever since. Her passion is to support students in
meeting themselves exactly where they are—physically, mentally, and emotionally—on
any given day, and to do so with compassion and grace.
In her classes, you can expect a slow, grounded vinyasa flow designed to cultivate
mind–body connection. Karen’s teaching integrates meditation, pranayama, and
mindful, intentional movement, with an emphasis on alignment and using breath to
steady the mind. She is an RYT-500 with additional certifications in Prenatal, Postnatal,
and Restorative yoga, and is currently continuing her studies in Yoga Therapy. She is
grateful to her many teachers, including Stephanie Snyder, Martin Scott, Melylah Botte
Smith, Anna Hughes, and Tias Little.
Karen also serves as the Northern California Ambassador for Veterans Yoga Project
(VYP), a nonprofit dedicated to providing free yoga and mindfulness resources to
veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.
