Cultivate is a unique and intimate workshop series focusing on various aspects of yoga philosophy. Each workshop is broken up into a specific theme and draws upon Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras to explore qualities we are looking to cultivate through personal practice. This series is a deep exploration into the depth of the yoga discipline and is a beautiful opportunity to deepen your practice both on and off the mat — to dive into the many ways in which yoga is a life practice.
Each session includes a dharma talk and discussion with Lauren, journaling prompts and guided meditation. You do not need to attend all sessions in order to benefit from this series, although it is recommended to participate in all if you can. Sessions are held on select Sunday afternoon from 4:15-5:45, followed by a 90-minute Soul Flow practice at The Pad (included in the price of the workshop).

*While the reading is not mandatory, both books offer context for the discussions
Winter Session: March 2019
SESSION 1: BEGIN (3/3)
Atha yoga anushasanam: Now begins the practice of yoga.
*In this session we will explore the essence of beginning; what it means to cultivate commitment and readiness and why it is important to remain a student with a beginner’s mind. We will look at the first 4 Sutras and discuss the idea of suffering as opportunity to set the foundation for what’s to come in later sessions.
SESSION 2: NURTURE (3/17)
Sutra 1.14: “Practice becomes firmly grounded when well attended to for a long time, without break and in all earnestness.”
*In this session we explore the power of diligence, discipline and discernment; what it means to cultivate and nurture a sustainable, dynamic and consistent practice.
SESSION 3: EMBODY (3/31)
A life practice is "an ongoing inquiry into how to be completely engaged and intimate with the wild force that runs through everything and is running through us, if we would pause long enough to notice. A life practice, then, is anything that we do over an extended period of time that consistently and reliably deepens the connection to our experience and expression of aliveness."
*In this session we explore yoga as a life practice and how we begin to integrate and embody the practice in all that we do. This session will dive into the 8 Limbs with a focus on the Yamas & Niyamas.
***Price: $45 per session or $120 for the pack of 3
