Julie Aiello | Yoga Teacher

I am a lover and student of nature and her rhythms. I think if we look closely in nature, we find ourselves intimately connected to everything. Nature teaches us about cyclical rhythms, sustaining balance, slow evolution over time, and appreciation for wild beauty.

I am also a student and lover of the wisdom traditions, which support us in working with our own nature. We live in a body, and we have a mind. The mind is a wonderfully powerful tool, and if you’ve heard the phrase “a wonderful servant, terrible master”

I find the opportunity in each yoga practice, and over years of practice now, that yoga offers a profound practice of skillfully working with the mind by coming home to the body. To me, this means we can practice inhabiting our body, our breath, and find safety, power and ease here. From that steady place, we relearn to trust our body and breath as intelligent, creative, and a really cool place to be! It also means we can work with with mind in a skillful way, instead of demonizing our busy constant thinking. We learn tools through yoga that support a gentle, powerful redirection of our energy to bolster the energy of the heart, engage the power of the body, and direct the mind in a way that serves us, and everyone around us.

I look forward to welcoming you into my class in this gorgeous space at the The Pad. I did my first teacher training here in 2015, and the community here is special to me, and one that I know can nurture your spirit as it has mine.
