2/22 – Week 2: Lengthening Yoga Poses

In these workshop we will review overlapping key Joseph Pilates principles and Yoga principles that enrich both practices. We will break down key yoga postures and will use Mat Pilates methodology with traditional yoga to build awareness, strengthen, and tone targeted muscle groups.
After workshopping the yoga postures, we will integrate these teachings into a Pilates Yoga flow. Both weekends we will focus on strengthening muscles in the mid body to increase length and improve balance.
Throughout the series, in addition to breaking down the yoga poses, we will overview Joseph Pilates Mat Pilates methodology including principles of control, centering, concentration, flow, precision, breathing, alignment, and integration.
