Christine discovered Pilates after a broken leg sidelined her from triathlon training 6 years ago. She was humbled by the challenge of the first class. Christine discovered muscles she never knew she had she found herself at the studio every day during her injury working to improving her form and knowledge of the practice. When her leg healed and she resumed her triathlon training she was amazed to discover how much stronger she was in her swim, bike, and run and knew it was from strengthening her core. Pilates quickly became a staple in her training, and a big part of her life.
Christine trained with Master Trainer Lara Hudson and also spent two weeks practicing at The Pilates Center in Boulder. In addition to Pilates, she has a Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Applied Economics from Cornell University and a MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas school of Business. She enjoys delivering an athletic and rigorous workout, leaving her clients stronger and feeling longer when they walk out of the studio. In her spare time Christine enjoys hiking, trail running, adventure travel, water sports, and competes in triathlons. She recently crossed the finish line at Ironman and is already training for her next. Check out Christine’s group classes, or email info[at]thepadstudios[dot]com to book a private lesson.

Rebecca recently completed The Pad Studios Teacher Training program and joined the studio as a Junior Pilates Instructor. After years of working in advertising in San Francisco, and fitting in workouts whenever she could, Rebecca realized that teaching fitness and helping others with their fitness goals was her true calling. An avid runner for years, Rebecca experienced first-hand how core strength and proper postural alignment can benefit all types of sports activities. She first tried Pilates in 2001, and has been a fan ever since. She particularly enjoys the precision of movement in the Pilates method, and that after a session, her clients feel more flexible, stronger, inspired and hopefully a little sweaty! Rebecca believes exercise is essential for both physical and mental health and strives to give her clients a workout that both works the body and helps to calm and focus the mind. After becoming a certified Bar Method instructor, Rebecca transitioned to working full time as a Pilates instructor at The Pad.

In 2006 a bout with sciatica became a puzzling, debilitating condition that through the direction of a teacher and friend Briala Silva led Todd to the discipline of Pilates. Todd’s indoctrination to Pilates was through Catherine Anderson and the Ron Fletcher Program of Study. Fascinated by the ability of Pilates to correct structural imbalances (muscular and skeletal), Todd completed level 1 Ron Fletcher comprehensive teacher training with Master teacher Pat Guyton in Boulder, Colorado. Following that in 2007, Todd completed the Body Arts and Sciences Comprehensive Teacher Training. Todd’s approach to teaching pilates is to give students a full body movement session every time. A major focus is placed on alignment and breath so the proper muscles function for their intended use and unintended muscles aren’t recruited for jobs they aren’t intended to do.

Nicole Fosberg is a P.M.A. certified instructor, and has an extensive background in Pilates, Dance, Yoga, and Somatics. She is truly passionate about teaching and sharing the benefits that the Pilates Method instills. Nicole has been a student of Pilates since the age of twelve, and in 2010 Nicole celebrated her tenth year as a teacher. She is a graduate from SFSU with her Bachelors of Arts in Dance. Her background in dance gives her a deep understanding of discipline and bio-mechanics. Growing up as a dancer Nicole suffered from many physical injuries and found Pilates to be an effective way to both rehabilitate and cross train. Critical to her own well being Nicole formally began her studies with the Body Arts and Science Institute, and world-renowned practitioner Rael Isacowitz, MA, and Professor Karen Clippinger M.S.P.E. Nicole’s desire to continue her education beyond the B.A.S.I. technique directed her to her mentor Susan Salk, who is a Ron Fletcher instructor, and a truly masterful teacher of Pilates and movement. Salk considers her to be “one of the most promising young teachers in the field.” Nicole’s integration of the Fletcher repertoire promotes a work out that helps her clients connect with the integration of body, mind, and breath. Since moving to San Francisco four years ago Nicole has modeled for publications demonstrating classical Pilates, and has been a large integral part of a teacher training program. Nicole’s diverse background allows her to create both a mindful and challenging workout for ALL bodies, and is thrilled to be able to share her love of Pilates at The Pad!
